Quantic and his Combo Barbaro at o2 Academy, Bristol
After a triumphant DJ set and LP launch party earlier this year, headline slots at The Big Chill, Beachdown, and Shambala Festivals, Bristol finally gets it’s opportunity to catch the fruit of Quantic’s sojourn to Columbia with the debut South West show of QUANTIC AND HIS COMBO BARBARO.
The culmination of years of work in his adopted hometown of Cali, Columbia, Quantic brings together the full stellar cast of players from the ‘Tradition in Transition’ album from Columbia, Cuba, Peru, and Panama, to create some serious tropical pressure at the Academy.
And as if that weren’t enough heat, we bring another big Bristol favourite to the line up in the shape of a DJ set from none other than BONOBO.
With his new single The Keeper out now on Ninja Tune, Bonobo’s next album is set for a late September release so expect some sneak previews of his eagerly anticipated long player, ahead of a rumoured Bristol full live show later in 2009.
