After Distraction, I didn't put any solo releases out for a while. Autonomy had ceased up and folded so I went back to doing what I did before the LP which was writing and engineering with peeps and some production bits with my management at the time. In between that, there's were occasional remixes and a DJ mix compilation Xtreme records put out.
That track was written over two years ago...I was trippin out on a cosmic funk vibe.
There'll be an EP out before an LP. Expect something for your feet and your soul..
When I recorded "Feeling Me Feeling You" with Loretta, she'd told me about Felix at Earthproject who was a friend of hers so it kinda began from there really.
Musically, it's been healthier than ever. There's been so much great music being made from all across the globe and producers like Jazzanova and Bugz have certainly played a major part in that. However, unlike other genres say drum'n'bass, which has crossed over, the nu jazz, broken ting or whatever you wanna call it, has been slow to catch on with the masses despite sounding parallel to Timbaland and Neo Soul. Hopefully with acts like NSM and Bugz signing major deals things will change...
The scene is alive and well! Electric Chair is now approaching it's ninth birthday and the excellent Eyes Down has been growing from strength to strength.
Two more singles are due out later this year on Earthproject. There's currently a Ranking Joe/Mykal Rose remix with Blood and Fire out on Twilight Circus. I'll also be working on a joint project with Jonny Miller (Wah Wah 45).
